PGCTrip App 4.4

The Prince George's County Traffic Response and Information Partnership (TRIP) Center has introduced the PGC Trip mobile application to deliver current transportation information to residents and travelers within Prince George's County. This tool aims to enhance public awareness of traffic conditions and improve roadway safety.

FEATURES:

• Hands-free, eyes-free audio alerts that notify users of upcoming traffic events, promoting safer driving practices
• An interactive map with zoom functionality and tappable icons indicating traffic impacts
• Live streaming video access from traffic cameras, with the option to save preferred cameras through a My PGC Trip account for quick retrieval
• Near real-time updates regarding traffic disruptions, construction activities, weather conditions, and road closures
• Personalized account management through My PGC Trip, allowing users to save routes, monitored areas, camera preferences, and receive email or text notifications
• Current traffic speed data and overall traffic condition reports
• Additional resources related to traveler information and roadway safety

  Note: Continued background GPS usage can affect device battery life efficiency.

  For safety reasons, users are advised not to operate the app while driving. The primary responsibility of drivers is to operate their vehicles safely. Mobile devices should only be used when the vehicle is stationary and off of the roadway. Texting while driving is illegal and a serious safety hazard; therefore, this app should not be used during vehicle operation.
